Guardians of
Auglaize Township
Founded in 1968, the Auglaize Township Fire Department has been the backbone of public safety for the Oakwood community for nearly six decades. What began as a small volunteer crew has grown into a highly trained, professional force of over 50 firefighters and EMTs.
Our department operates from a single modern station on Road 178, covering a diverse service area that includes residential neighborhoods, agricultural land, and light commercial districts. We respond to an average of 2,400 calls per year — from structure fires and vehicle collisions to medical emergencies and natural disaster response.
Every member of our department is a volunteer who gives their time, training, and heart to protect the people and properties they call home. We believe that safety isn't just about responding to emergencies — it's about preventing them, educating the public, and building a resilient community together.
